Of medieval origin, the Church of the Holy Saviour was severely damaged by repeated earthquakes. Closed in 1962 for damages suffered, was reopened in 2001 after a series of renovations that have restored to it the dignity and charm. The restorations were conservative but at the same time, they wanted to leave visible, as in a "stratigraphy", traces the changes that the religious building has undergone over the many centuries of its history.
