The walls of the Lombard cities represent an example of the early medieval town walls still in fairly good condition. Departed from the Golden Gate, were developed long avenue of Rectors to the present Castle, south via included Annunziata, Door Rufina, via Torre Chain, via Posillipo and is reunited with Golden Gate. The structure of the walls is quite varied: on a base of large blocks of limestone and tuff rise the walls "random length", consisting essentially of river stones bound with mortar, but they appear in a rather irregular bricks and large square stones apparently from Roman buildings. .
